KeNHA Announces Traffic Disruption on Major Nairobi Road Ahead of Jamhuri Day

Motorists using the Mombasa Road (A8) are advised to prepare for two nights of temporary traffic disruption as the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) installs fabricated beams for a new footbridge.

The affected area is a section of the Mombasa-bound lanes between the Airtel Complex and General Motors, near the Panari Hotel.

The disruption is scheduled for two distinct overnight periods.

According to KeNHA statement on Thursday, December 11, 2025, the first closure is scheduled for Thursday, December 11, 2025, to Friday, December 12, 2025, with the second occurring from Friday, December 12, 2025, to Saturday, December 13, 2025.

“KeNHA wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) near Panari Hotel will experience traffic disruption along the Mombasa bound lanes from Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 10 pm to Friday December 12, 2025 to 6 am and from Friday December 12, 2025 at 10 pm to Saturday December 13, 2025 at 6 am,” KeNHA statement read.

KeNHA Traffic Disruption 

The statement added, “This is to allow for installation of the fabricated footbridge beams. KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan below and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site.”

Motorists are advised to follow the temporary traffic signs in place around the Airtel Complex and Ole Sereni junction to navigate around the working area before rejoining the main highway past General Motors.

The Authority stated that the works are critical for public safety and appealed for patience from all road users during the overnight works.
