Ruto Pays Tribute After Death of Another UDA Loyalist

President William Ruto mourned the death of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party member, Daniel Ole Sambu, in a moving tribute.

Daniel passed away on December 11, 2025, after battling an illness at Coptic Hospital for a month and a half.

He served as the Deputy Secretary-General of the UDA party and a prominent wildlife conservation champion.

Ruto said the leadership style of Ole Sambu and his loyalty to the party will be highly missed.

“We have lost a devoted and patriotic leader whose wisdom and insight will be missed,” President Ruto asserted.

Ruto Acknowledges the Work of Ole Sambu in His Party

According to Ruto, during Sambu’s tenure in office as the Deputy Secretary General, he was lethal in mobilizing.

He added that the late engaged with mature politics only.

“Daniel Ole Sambu, the UDA Deputy Secretary-General, was a gentleman and a solid grassroots mobilizer. He was a steadfast UDA leader who subscribed to mature and progressive politics,” said Ruto.

Ruto added, “Our thoughts are with the family, friends and the UDA fraternity. Rest In Peace, Ole Sambu.”

UDA Confirms Death of Ole Sambu

The UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar announced the death of Ole Sambu on December 11, 2025, describing him as a key pillar of UDA, highlighting his dedication to democratic principles and his pivotal role in strengthening the party’s grassroots structures.

“It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that, on behalf of the entire UDA Party family, we convey our condolences following the passing of our Deputy Secretary General, Daniel Ole Sambu,” the statement read.

“Ole Sambu was not just a colleague in leadership but a strong pillar of our party, a dedicated democrat who has stood with the ideals of our Party. His strategic insight, unwavering commitment to the growth of our party, and relentless work in building our structures from the grassroots are invaluable.
