Police Recruitment: Candidate Disqualified for Having Tattoos

One of the police recruit candidates has been disqualified with immediate effect for having tattoos.

In a notice, it was stated that the recruit was absorbed into the Administration Police Service on November 17th, 2025, at Kajiado County and later on November 24th, 2025, he reported to the National College.

The recruit was expected to enroll in a basic recruit course in Embakasi A Campus.

“You were recruited into the Administration Police Service on 17th November, 2025, at Kajiado County and reported to the National Police College, Embakasi A Campus for the Basic Recruit Course on 24th November, 2025,” read part notice.

What Was Discovered During the Medical Test

During the medical examination, the recruit was discovered to have a tattoo on his body.

Visible tattoos are highly prohibited and banned in police recruitment exercises; therefore, the candidate was deemed unfit to undertake the Basic Recruit Training.

“During medical examination, you were found to be having a visible tattoo on your body, thus unfit to undertake the Basic Recruit Training,” read the notice.

Penalty for Having a Tattoo in Police Recruitment Exercise

The candidate was expelled with immediate effect from the camp following the discovery of a tattoo on his body.

He was also discontinued from the ongoing Basic Recruits Course.

“In view of the above, you are hereby discontinued from the ongoing Basic Recruits Course No.1/2025 with immediate effect,” read part notice.

What Can Lead to Candidates Being Disqualified From the Recruitment Camp

When they discover falsification of documents, forgery of certificates can also lead to disqualification.

When the candidate engages in any form of malpractice during written or practical assessments, such as using a phone during a test or having another person present during an online exam, leads to immediate removal.

Behavior and attitude issues can also lead to discontinuation.
