Monica Kivuti Shot in Court

This incident comes after the shocking courtroom shooting in June 2024, where Principal Magistrate Monica Kivuti was fatally shot while presiding over a case at the Makadara Law Courts in Nairobi.

The assailant, Chief Inspector Samson Kipchirchir Kipruto, opened fire after the magistrate revoked bail for his wife, who had failed to appear in court.

In the chaos that followed, Magistrate Kivuti was critically injured, along with two police officers and a court orderly.

The shooter was immediately gunned down by fellow officers on the scene.
