The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a temporary traffic disruption between Musikoma Roundabout and Kanduyi Junction along Mayoni-Bungoma (Kanduyi) (B139) Road.
In a statement on January 18, KeNHA Acting Director General Eng. Luka Kimeli notified the public that the dual carriageway section of the Mayoni–Bungoma (B139) Road between Musikoma Roundabout and Kanduyi Junction with A8 will experience temporary traffic disruptions.
The Kanduyi-bound lane will be closed from Monday, January 19, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. until Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., while the Mayoni-bound lane will be closed from Monday, January 26, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. until Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
“KeNHA notifies the public that the dual section of Mayoni – Bungoma (B139) Road between Musikoma Roundabout and Kanduyi Junction with A8 will experience traffic disruption as follows: The Kanduyi-bound lane will be temporarily closed from Monday, January 19, 2026, at 6.00 am to Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 6.00 pm. The Mayoni-bound lane will be temporary closed from Monday, January 26, 2026, at 6.00 am to Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 6.00 pm,” Kimeli said.

Kimeli explained that the closures are to allow for surface dressing works along the dual carriageway section of the road.
He advised motorists to approach the work zones with caution, follow the proposed traffic management plan, and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site.

“This is to allow for surface dressing works along the dual section of the road,” KeNHA said.
