JOOTRH Advertises 56 Job Opportunities: How To Apply

Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) has announced 56 job vacancies across a wide range of medical, nursing, technical, and support services as it seeks to strengthen healthcare delivery at the Level 6 facility.

In a public notice dated January 20, 2026, the hospital said it is recruiting highly motivated, dynamic, and results-oriented individuals to fill the positions on a contract basis.

JOOTRH, a State Corporation established under Legal Notice No. 111 of 2025, aims to enhance access to quality and specialized medical services through training, research, and innovation.

The advertised vacancies include senior specialist roles such as urologist, neurosurgeon, orthopedic surgeon, radiologist, psychiatrist, cardiologists, pediatric and adult hemato-oncologists, ENT surgeon, plastic surgeon, and specialist physicians.

The hospital is also seeking medical officers, dental officers, pharmacists, nutritionists, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists.

 

Nursing Positions Take the Largest Share

Nursing opportunities form the largest share of the recruitment drive, with 53 positions available for registered nurses.

Additional nursing roles include nurse anesthetists, trauma and emergency nurses, oncology nurses, palliative care nurses, midwives, pediatric nurses, perioperative nurses, neonatal critical care nurses, and critical care nurses.

JOOTRH is further recruiting theatre technicians, laboratory technologists, phlebotomists, radiographers, pharmaceutical technologists, biomedical engineers and technologists, ICT assistants, accountants, clerical officers, medical social workers, artisans, drivers, patient attendants, patient porters, and cooks.

Application and Requirements

According to the hospital, full job descriptions, qualifications, and application guidelines are available on its official website.

Interested and suitably qualified candidates are required to submit their applications online through the JOOTRH recruitment portal, clearly indicating the job reference number and position applied for in the subject line.

Applicants must upload their application letter, curriculum vitae, copy of national identification, valid practicing license where applicable, certified academic and professional certificates, testimonials, and any other relevant supporting documents in PDF format.

Candidates with foreign qualifications are required to have them equated to Kenyan standards.

Deadline and Important Notice to Applicants

The Hospital stated that all applications must be submitted by Friday, February 13, 2026, at 4.00 p.m.

Late applications will not be considered.

JOOTRH also cautioned applicants that the institution does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and any form of canvassing will result in automatic disqualification.
