The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) issued an alert confirming  the collision saying that one of the fuel tankers to plunge from the Southern Bypass onto the lower road, where it immediately burst into flames.

The authority further said fire and emergency services are currently on site undertaking containment and safety operations, while traffic police have secured the area.
