Jude Owens: The Two-Year-Old with Two Guinness World Records

Share

At the tender age of two years, Manchester toddler Jude Owens has managed to break two Guinness World Records in snooker and pool trick shots, making him one of the youngest double record holders in the world.

The first record came on October 12, 2025, when Jude completed a snooker double pot, potting two balls in one shot, at 2 years and 261 days old.

Only a few weeks later, he executed a pool bank shot at 2 years and 302 days old, officially making him the youngest person to achieve both trick shots recognized by the Guinness World Records organisation.

Jude’s achievements are groundbreaking, not just for his age but also for the technical precision required by these shots.

A double pot in the game of snooker needs precise control while using the cue as well as spatial judgment so that the double pot can be made in a single strike.

A bank shot in pool tests a player’s ability to use cushion angles and velocity, skills that even many adult players take years to master.

Early Talent and Family Support

Jude’s initial love for cue sports was discovered by his father, Luke Owens, who recognized his interest in the sport at home, where they had a mini table.

As Jude’s talent and skill level progressed, the family was able to adjust by using stools for him to reach the full table, which was quite resourceful.

Luke recalls seeing Jude naturally pick up the technique at an age when most toddlers are just beginning to walk with confidence.

“I realised once he put the cue through his fingers and it was dead natural the way he did it,” Luke explained, underscoring the toddler’s instinctive feel for the game.

Recognition and Reaction

The recognition from Guinness World Records has brought Jude into the spotlight.

Editor-in-Chief Craig Glenday praised his skill, determination, and enthusiasm, qualities that set him apart despite his very young age.

“Record-breaking has always belonged to everyone, regardless of age,” Glenday said, celebrating Jude’s place in the record books.

Aside from that, Jude has already experienced competitive-style moments, such as having a special walk-out at the 2025 UK Snooker Championship, and has gained sports sponsorship, which is considered an achievement for an individual who is not yet three years old.
