Political party membership in Kenya is regulated by law and managed through the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP).
Whether you want to join the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) or resign from it, there are clear procedures provided under the Political Parties Act.
This guide explains the official steps for registering as an ODM member and how to properly deregister, ensuring your status is legally updated in the national party membership register.
a) Through the ODM Party Process
ODM membership is open to all Kenyan citizens aged 18+ with a valid national ID or passport.
You must accept party principles and subscribe to its constitution and Code of Conduct.
You can register directly with ODM by sending your name and ID/passport number to 22732, or by signing up online via the party’s membership portal.
ODM also provides an online registration form where you fill in personal details like username, name, ID/passport, email, phone, and password.
