Safaricom Announces Internship Opportunities for Continuing Students and Graduates

Safaricom has announced internship opportunities for continuing university students and graduates across various departments within the company.

In a statement dated Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the leading telecommunications firm invited qualified candidates to apply for the 2026/2027 internship intake.

According to Safaricom, available internship opportunities are in the following fields: Human Resources, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, Audit, Public Relations and Communications, Enterprise Risk, Cyber Security, and Technology.

The company said the internship programme follows a structured cycle. For continuing students, intakes run from July to September, October to December, and January to March. For graduates or students awaiting graduation, the programme runs from April to October or from November to March.

Safaricom noted that there will be one application call this financial year, allowing applicants to select the intake period that aligns with their academic and career plans.

Internship Program Options:

• 3-Month Industrial Attachment – For ongoing students. Intakes: April, July, October & January.
• 6-Month Internship – For recent graduates (within 12 months) or those awaiting graduation. Intakes: April & October.
• Pupillage – For Kenya School of Law students. Intakes: April & October.

Eligibility Requirements

• To qualify for the Safaricom Annual Internship Programme 2026/2027, applicants must:
• Be a current undergraduate student in their 3rd, 4th, or 5th year of study, or
• Awaiting graduation or have graduated within the past 12 months
• Be available full-time during the selected internship period.

• Apply for only one intake per calendar year.
• Commit to the full programme duration of three or six months.
• Demonstrate passion, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
