The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced an extension of road construction works on the Mombasa–Nairobi (A8) Highway between Makupa Bridge and Changamwe Interchange.
The affected section will remain closed from September 23 2025 until October 4 2025.
KeNHA says the closure is mandatory to complete road construction and drainage works for seamless connectivity in the area.
Motorists are therefore urged to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with police and traffic officers on site.
The authority has also made a diversion map that highlights the construction area and available alternative routes with some of the major landmarks included like the SGR and Airport-bound lanes.
The notice was signed by Eng. Luka Kimeli, the Acting Director General and he indicated that road safety begins with the motorists and that the agency always aim at offering quality highways and more improved connectivity
