The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened applications for 13 diploma and certificate programmes offered at Kenya Utalii College (KUC).
In a statement dated Thursday, March 14, 2026, KUCCPS said the courses are now available through its online application portal.
“KUCCPS has opened its online application system for 13 diploma and certificate courses offered at KUC, marking a major milestone towards enhancing equitable, fair, and efficient access to the world-respected hospitality and tourism training institution,” read part of the statement.
According to the Placement Service, the application window will run until April 1, 2026, and is open to candidates who sat the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination as well as those from previous years.
Among the diploma programmes available are Diploma in Hospitality Management, Diploma in Culinary Arts, Diploma in Front Office Operations, Diploma in Food and Beverage Management, Diploma in Housekeeping and Laundry Management, Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management, and Diploma in Tour Guiding and Administration.
Certificate courses offered include Certificate in Front Office Operations, Certificate in Pastry and Bakery, Certificate in Housekeeping and Laundry Operations, Certificate in Food and Beverage Service and Sales, Certificate in Travel and Tour Operations, and Certificate in Tour Guiding and Administration.
Applicants are required to submit their applications online through the KUCCPS Student Portal available on the KUCCPS website.
Those seeking assistance have been advised to visit KUCCPS offices at ACK Garden House on Ngong Avenue in Nairobi, Kenya Utalii College, or any of the 58 Huduma Centres located across the country.
Kenya Utalii College was established 47 years ago and trains students in hospitality and tourism. The institution has produced more than 60,000 graduates who work in the hospitality industry in Kenya and other countries.
The college operates under the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife (Kenya) and previously admitted students directly. It has now joined the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service placement system, becoming one of the institutions outside the Ministry of Education (Kenya) to use the platform for student admissions.

The move follows an agreement between KUCCPS and the college to allow students to apply for hospitality and tourism training programmes through the national placement system.
KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Mercy Wahome and the college’s principal, Mark Rachuonyo Ogendi, announced the partnership on January 19.

Wahome said the KUCCPS placement system is designed to allocate students to institutions based on merit while enabling institutions to recruit students from across the country.
“There is equity in the process, ensuring that institutions achieve the face of Kenya,” she said.
