The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has assured stakeholders that airport operations across Kenya will continue uninterrupted despite a strike threat issued by the Kenya Aviation Workers’ Union (KAWU).
In a statement, the KCAA Board of Directors and management said issues that led to the strike notice have been addressed constructively through ongoing engagements involving the board, senior management, and a conciliation process.
“We are pleased to report that the matters giving rise to the strike notice have been addressed constructively through ongoing engagements at the Board level, senior management, and through a conciliation process resulting in significant progress,” KCAA said.
The authority noted that the process, facilitated by a conciliator appointed by the Ministry of Labour, is still ongoing as both parties work toward a common understanding and long-term industrial harmony.
“KCAA therefore can now assure all stakeholders that there will be no disruption to operations and all aviation services will continue as normal across the country,” reads another part of the statement.
