The Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs through the office of PS Roseline Njogu has confirmed the successful evacuation of 15 Kenyans from Iran as tensions continue to rise in the Middle East.
In a press statement released on Saturday, March 21, 2026, the State Department for Diaspora Affairs said the government had activated emergency response measures across its diplomatic missions in the region.
“The Government of Kenya continues to monitor the situation in the Middle East and provide timely updates to Kenyans in the region and the public.”
According to the statement, a multi-agency team worked in coordination with Kenyan missions in Ankara and Tehran to ensure the safe evacuation of the nationals.
The evacuees were transported from Iran through Türkiye, highlighting ongoing diplomatic collaboration amid the crisis.
“A multi-agency team has activated emergency protocols across Kenya Missions in the region… working with Kenya Missions in Ankara and Tehran, has facilitated the evacuation of 15 Kenyans from Iran via Türkiye.”

The government confirmed that the evacuated individuals are expected to arrive back in Kenya in the early hours of Sunday, March 22, 2026.
“The evacuees are expected to arrive in Kenya in the early hours of Sunday, March 22, 2026.”
Kenyans living in affected areas have been urged to remain vigilant and adhere strictly to official guidance issued by embassies and host governments.
“Kenyan nationals are advised to strictly follow guidance issued by Kenyan Embassies, host governments, and our official communication channels.”

The government has also provided emergency contact channels for citizens in distress to seek assistance from the State Department for Diaspora Affairs.
“Kenyans in distress should contact the nearest Kenyan Mission or reach the State Department for Diaspora Affairs.”
