Fresh Chance for Students as KUCCPS Reopens KMTC Placement Window

Share

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened applications for programmes at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), offering a fresh opportunity to candidates seeking admission into medical courses for the 2026 academic cycle.

In a notice issued on Sunday, March 29, KUCCPS confirmed that a total of 21 courses are available during the latest revision window.

The agency said the move is aimed at accommodating applicants who were unsuccessful during the initial placement process earlier this year.

“Update: Another round of applications for KMTC programmes is open! 21 courses available! Log in to KUCCPS portal for students.kuccps.ac.ke and apply before April 3, 2026,” KUCCPS announced.

The placement service further clarified that the reopening specifically targets candidates who missed out on slots in previous application phases, giving them a second chance to secure placement in competitive medical training programmes.

Second Chance for Unplaced Applicants

According to KUCCPS, this latest application window is part of a broader plan to ensure that all training places at KMTC institutions are fully utilized, with priority given to applicants who previously failed to secure places.

In their announcement, the agency indicated that the earlier reopening of the applications, which took place on March 3, had included 31 courses from KMTC and had been targeting students who had attained grades C and D in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

This phase of the process had been closed on March 13, just after the January process had been concluded.

This latest chance to apply, however, has been expanded to include a wider range of applicants.

According to KUCCPS, this chance to apply is now open to Form Four leavers from the years 2000 to 2025.

“The application window is open to Form Four leavers from the years 2000 to 2025,” the agency reiterated in their announcement, highlighting their focus on inclusivity in higher education.
