Govt Announces Slovakia Scholarship Slots: How to Apply

The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kenya and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic (Slovakia) in Nairobi have announced the Slovak Government Scholarships for the academic year 2026/27.

In a statement, the Ministry said the Government of Kenya has received five scholarships from the Government of the Slovak Republic for Bachelor’s degree studies leading to a Master’s degree for the 2026/2027 academic year.

“The Government of Kenya has received five (5) scholarships for Bachelor’s leading to Master’s degree studies for the Academic Year 2026/2027 from the Government of the Slovak Republic,” the Ministry said.

The Ministry advised interested applicants to visit its official website, www.education.go.ke, under the scholarship section for detailed application procedures.

It added that completed application forms must be submitted to the Ministry no later than April 30, 2026.

“For more details on the application procedure, kindly visit the Ministry’s website www.education.go.ke under the scholarship theme. The application forms should reach the Ministry not later than 30th April, 2026.”

Slovak Republic National Scholarship Programme

The provision of government scholarships of the Slovak Republic is a long-term part of the development cooperation of the Slovak Republic.

The conditions of admission and granting a government scholarship are regulated by Act no. 392/2015 Coll. on Development Cooperation and on Amendments to Certain Acts and Decree of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic No. 50/2016 laying down details on the provision of government scholarships.

The Government of the Slovak Republic offers scholarships, primarily through the National Scholarship Programme (NSP) and dedicated bilateral development aid, to support international students, PhD students, and researchers.

The National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic supports the study/research/teaching/artistic mobility of international students, PhD students, university teachers, researchers, and artists at higher education institutions and research organisations.

It supports two-way mobility – international scholarship holders to Slovakia, as well as Slovak scholarship holders abroad.

The programme offers scholarships to cover living costs during the stay and travel allowances (all categories in case of scholarship holders from Slovakia; students and PhD students in case of international scholarship holders).

The calls for applications for scholarships are open and published twice each academic year. In March/April for the winter semester and in September/October for the summer semester.
