CA Announces Student Attachment Opportunities – How to Apply

The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has officially opened applications for the student attachment programme, offering university students a chance to gain practical experience in Kenya’s fast-evolving digital and communications sector.

In a public notice dated April 1,2026, the Authority invited ongoing students from recognized universities to apply for a three-month attachment across a wide range of departments.

These include areas such as Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Finance, Legal Services, Supply Chain Management, and Frequency & Spectrum Management-reflecting the broad scope of opportunities within the ICT regulator.

“The Authority invites applications from ongoing students for a three-month (3) attachment opportunity,” the notice reads.

CA, which plays a critical role in regulating telecommunications, broadcasting, cybersecurity, and postal services in Kenya, stated that the programme is designed to equip students with hands-on experience in a dynamic regulatory environment.

Successful applicants will not only work alongside experienced professionals but also gain exposure to real-world projects shaping Kenya’s digital future.

The Authority highlighted that the attachment programme is ideal for students keen on understanding how policy, innovation, and technology intersect.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be continuing students in a recognized university, and their area of study should align with the department they are applying to.

Additionally, candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong interest in gaining practical skills within the ICT sector.

Applicants must attach:

  • A one-page CV
  • A cover letter specifying the department of interest
  • A letter from their institution confirming current enrollment and support for the attachment

The deadline for applications is April 8, 2026, with only shortlisted candidates to be contacted for interviews.
