Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju has resurfaced at Dari Business Park after he was discharged from Karen Hospital.

The former CS revealed that he briefly went into hiding before he was hospitalised because he was being trailed by two individuals, one of whom he alleges is the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss

Speaking on Thursday, Tuju said he had noticed suspicious movements that raised alarm about his safety. As a result, he withdrew from public view to avoid what he described as a looming threat.

“I went into hiding because I realized I was being trailed, two individuals were following me, and one of them is the DCI boss,” Tuju said.

He emphasized that the situation appeared coordinated, adding that he could not ignore the risk.

“I could not take chances with my life. The manner in which they followed me was not normal,” he stated.

At the same time, Tuju acknowledged the support he received while away, noting that messages from Kenyans encouraged him.

“I thank Kenyans from all walks of life for praying for me and my family,” he said.

Return to Dari Business Park

After being discharged from the hospital, where he was admitted after he developed health complications while in police custody, Tuju returned to Dari Business Park in Karen, where a high-stakes dispute over the property continues to unfold. Upon arrival, he addressed supporters and firmly defended his claim.

“They have no legal order to occupy this place, this is a private property and not land grabbed from government.” he said.

He maintained that he would not yield to pressure, insisting that the law remains on his side.

Dispute Takes New Turn

Meanwhile, Tuju’s claims have added fresh tension to the ongoing standoff surrounding the multi-billion-shilling property.

His remarks point to alleged intimidation and raise questions about the actions of those involved.

Even so, he expressed readiness to pursue the matter through legal channels, urging authorities to respect due process.
