A 29-year-old woman, Winfred Nkatha, has appeared before the Malindi Law Courts following her arrest and the seizure of 255 kilogrammes of Cannabis sativa during an intelligence-led operation in Jimba area, Kilifi County.

The court scheduled the case for mention on April 23, 2026, to give pre-trial directions.

Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) in Malindi, in collaboration with officers from Watamu Police Station, conducted a targeted raid at a residential house along Mwatela Road, off the Watamu–Gede Road.
