In a breakthrough, a multi-agency security team recovered a consignment of suspected Al-Shabaab combat uniforms in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

The intelligence-led operation took place in the early hours of Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the KBS Garage area and involved officers from DCI Starehe and the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU).

The operation followed intelligence from an earlier interception in Dhobley on April 6, 2026, where Jubaland Security Forces (JSF) seized twenty-five bales of suspected Al-Shabaab camouflage uniforms.

The consignment was reportedly destined for a suspect identified as Abdi Hakim, currently in custody in Dhobley.

Seizure Details and Logistics Network

Officers recovered eleven bales, each containing sixty full camouflage uniforms and 120 T-shirts, while an additional bale had sixty-five uniforms and 120 T-shirts.

These were found at Vision Point Express, a neighboring facility to Gaani Parcel Express, where they had been temporarily stored due to limited space.

“The swift recovery demonstrates the importance of timely intelligence and coordination among security agencies,” said an ATPU spokesperson.

Unraveling the Supply Chain

Investigations revealed the consignment passed through multiple logistics firms, including Safe Link Cargo at Soma Towers, Nairobi.

Records indicate the shipment originated from China and entered Kenya through the Port of Mombasa disguised as consolidated cargo.

Employees involved, including Abdiftah Aden Muhammed, have been linked to coordinating the clearance and movement of the uniforms.
