Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested four suspects in Ukunda, Kwale County, in connection with the murder of a British national and a series of violent robberies reported along the Coast.
The arrests follow an intelligence-led, multi-agency operation targeting individuals believed to be part of an organised criminal network.
The suspects Bernard Mbusu, Isaac Kinoti Kobia, Evans Muthengi Mutaki, and Kelvin Mwangi Njoroge were apprehended at Ideal Apartments in Ukunda
This happened during a coordinated raid involving officers from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CR&IB), as well as teams from SCCIO Nyali and SCCIO Msambweni.

Authorities also tied the group to a robbery with violence incident involving an American national in Nyali and another case reported in Watamu, Malindi Sub-County.
During a search of the suspects’ residence, detectives recovered several items believed to be proceeds of crime, including an HP laptop, mobile phones, assorted foreign currencies, multiple credit cards, cheque books from various banks, and point-of-sale (PDQ) machines.

Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) personnel processed the scene and documented the recovered exhibits.

Detectives indicated that further forensic analysis is underway.
