Ian Metto in Heated Exchange with Woman Over Leaked “Simping” Chats

Share

Nairobi-based digital creator Ian Augustine Metto is facing mounting online scandal following the circulation of alleged private conversations and accusations involving inappropriate contact with a woman’s child.

This allegation has since triggered widespread debate across social media platforms.

The controversy began on Sunday morning when screenshots, reportedly extracted from Facebook conversations dated March and October, began circulating widely on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).

Facebook user Sharon Awuor accused Ian of asking to be intimate with her and shared screenshots of their conversations.

“Sasa mumesema niko na fake standards just because I refused to flirt back?? Someone just comes to your dm out of nowhere with such a long paragraph talking about ‘I will flick and lick your beans and bury my head between your thighs,’ and you expect me to entertain him?” Sharon asked.
“Jameni siwezi. I don’t move like that at all. It’s okay if some of you move like that, but mimi hapana! I can never ever flirt with someone I don’t like! There is a time I said hapa that I don’t even accept money from men I don’t like!!
I rarely flirt with people I haven’t met, too!! I might flirt with the ones I consider my type, but I never let it go too far. That’s just who I am and I am not going to change it because of Facebook pressure!,” she added.
Sharon Awuor accused Metto of inappropriate conduct and warned him against involving her child, further claiming she had additional evidence of private communication.

She claimed that there were screenshots of Ian simping in her DM before going ahead toi post some of them on Facebook.

“lan Augustine Metto I am still waiting for you to go after my child. Remember, I have messages of you simping in my dm and I am not scared of posting them. Even with your 10 cars, 5 houses and the whole of your village in the US courtesy of you, I still could not let you dip,” Sharon said.

Ian Metto Posts and Responses

Metto later responded through a Facebook post that appeared to downplay the growing backlash.

“I see the conflict… You know Ian, but you don’t… This is beautiful,” he wrote, adding that individuals familiar with him personally had reacted with laughter rather than concern.

The response, however, did not directly address the specific allegations.

His statement further fueled reactions online, with critics arguing that it failed to provide clarity on the claims, while supporters viewed it as a dismissal of what they termed exaggerated accusations circulating on social media.

The exchange added another layer to an already fast-evolving digital conversation, with users dissecting both the screenshots and his tone of response.

In another post, Mettio said, “Never take cognac and text Bana. People might think you are serious na wewe uko Tu hapo.”

Sharon responded to this post saying, “Ian Augustine Metto, so you texted all the 20 women in my dm at different times because you were drunk?? Hata ile ulinitumia saa tano mchana bado ilikuwa pombe?”

Earlier narratives circulating online that linked the matter to comments about the Strait of Hormuz were later not reflected in the leaked chats, which appeared to contain informal exchanges and slang-based conversation.

As of Sunday evening, Metto had not issued a detailed clarification beyond his initial post, and there has been no public confirmation of an official complaint or formal investigation relating to the allegations.

The situation continues to develop as online discussions remain active across multiple platforms.
