The family of influencer Ashlee Jenae has called for justice and clarity following her sudden death during a birthday trip to Zanzibar with her fiancé, describing the incident as devastating and still surrounded by unanswered questions.
In a statement released on April 12, the family said Ashlee had travelled to Zanzibar to celebrate her 31st birthday on April 5, a trip that they described as one of the happiest moments of her life.
During the visit, she became engaged to her fiancé, Joe McCann, after a proposal during a safari experience that marked what they believed was the beginning of a new chapter together.
According to the family, the couple was staying at a luxury villa at Zuri Zanzibar when Ashlee was later found unconscious inside the villa.
She was rushed to a local hospital, where her death was confirmed hours later.
The family said the loss has been deeply shocking, noting that only days earlier she had been celebrating love, life, and new beginnings during what they believed was her dream trip.

Investigation Is Ongoing
The family confirmed that there is an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death and said they are working closely with officials in Zanzibar as they seek to find answers.
The Robinson family also said that the sudden nature of the death and the long distance from home, have made their loss even more difficult for relatives and her loved ones to process.

Family Mourns Ashlee
Describing Ashlee as vibrant and full of life, the family said she had so much ahead of her and was excited about the future that she was building.
The family has also urged the public to treat any information that is not directly released by them as unverified and not factual.
They say investigations are still taking place in order to unveil the circumstances surrounding Ashlee’s passing.
