KUCCPS Sets Up 72 Centres to Help Students Apply for 2026 University and College Courses [FULL LIST]

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has established 72 support centres across the country to assist students applying for university and college courses under the 2026/2027 placement cycle.

In a statement dated Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the placement agency said it has deployed officers to various universities, private institutions, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges to offer career guidance and technical support during the application period.

According to KUCCPS, the nationwide exercise kicked off on Monday, April 13, 2026, and will run until Friday, April 24, 2026, targeting Form Four leavers who may need help navigating the online application system or selecting suitable courses.

KUCCPS Deploys Officers to 72 Centres

Among the universities hosting KUCCPS officers are Chuka University (Tharaka Nithi), Egerton University (Nakuru), Moi University (Uasin Gishu), Maseno University (Kisumu), University of Eldoret (Uasin Gishu), Karatina University (Nyeri), and Machakos University (Machakos).

Private universities have also been enlisted as support centres, including KCA University (Nairobi), Mount Kenya University (Thika), Daystar University (Athi River), Kabarak University (Nakuru), and Zetech University (Kiambu).

Additionally, several TVET institutions and national polytechnics such as Kitale National Polytechnic (Trans Nzoia), Michuki National Polytechnic (Murang’a), Mawego National Polytechnic (Homa Bay), and Nyamira National Polytechnic (Nyamira) are participating to ensure students across all regions can access support services.

Beyond the 72 centres, support is also available at all Huduma Centres nationwide, as well as at KUCCPS offices located at ACK Garden House in Nairobi.

The application deadline is set for May 6, 2026.

Candidates who may require further assistance can contact KUCCPS through its official telephone lines or email for guidance during the application period.

How to Apply for KUCCPS Programmes

Candidates are required to log in using their credentials (KCSE Index number, KCSE Year and password), after which they can begin the application process.

Once logged in, applicants are advised to first download the programme lists and cluster documents provided on the portal.

These documents contain detailed information on available degree courses, the universities offering them, minimum subject requirements, and cut-off points from previous years.

Previous years’ cut-off points are meant to help you choose degree courses you are more likely to get. You should compare your cluster weight, shown on the portal, with the 2024 cut-off points to see your chances of admission.

This helps you understand how competitive each course is. To improve your chances, apply for courses in universities where the cut-off point is lower than your cluster weight.

After checking your options, choose the courses you prefer and write down their programme codes.

During the application, these codes must be entered in order of priority, beginning with the most preferred course.

For the first choice, applicants are expected to select the same programme in three different universities, labelled as 1a, 1b, and 1c, before proceeding to list other choices.
