The Government of Uganda has reassured its citizens that the country’s fuel supply remains stable and secure, even as global tensions continue to influence international oil markets.

In a joint update issued through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) and the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) on April 14 2026.

The Government of Uganda said another fuel vessel, which is carrying approximately 119 million litres of petroleum products, is expected to arrive at the Port of Mombasa on April 15, 2026.

“This shipment will further strengthen national fuel reserves and ensure continued availability across the country”. The report said.

A Shipment To Dock At Mombasa

The Government of Uganda explained that the incoming shipment will strengthen its national fuel reserves and support the continued availability of petroleum products across Uganda.

Officials noted that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development and the Uganda National Oil Company are actively managing supply chains and maintaining adequate stock levels to meet national demand.

The Government of Uganda urged the public to remain calm and avoid panic buying of fuel.

Ongoing Global Tensions

The reassurance comes amid concerns about possible disruptions linked to the ongoing global conflicts that affect oil supply routes and pricing trends.

According to the Government of Uganda, pump prices are largely influenced by international market dynamics, including ongoing geopolitical developments involving the United States, Israel and Iran, which continue to affect global oil prices.

However, the Government of Uganda said measures have been put in place in order to monitor the pricing trends closely and also ensure fuel costs remain within manageable levels for the consumers.
