The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has addressed claims of a possible delay in teachers’ April salaries.
In a press release posted on its official X account, the commission urged teachers and members of the public to stop spreading false information, terming the claims as fake news.
It also advised the public to rely only on official TSC communication channels for verified information.
“TSC advised teachers and the public to rely only on its official communication channels for verified information.”, TSC said.
The fake post alleged that TSC had recalled the April payroll to comply with a court order that halted deductions for Kewota, the Kenya Union of Teachers of Art, Music and Technology, and claimed that teachers would receive their salaries next week.
TSC denied claims that it had closed the payroll on April 16 and was set to pay teachers from Friday.
Further, the Commission called on the public to verify information before sharing it, warning that misinformation can cause unnecessary panic among teachers.
