The government has announced a fresh recruitment drive for the position of Member of the Public Service Commission (PSC), inviting qualified Kenyans to apply.
In a notice issued by the Selection Panel chaired by Arthur Osiya, on Thursday, April 23, 2026, the panel called on suitably qualified candidates to submit applications for consideration for nomination to the commission.
“The Selection Panel for the Recruitment of Nominees for Appointment as Member of the Public Service Commission invites applications from suitably qualified persons for consideration for nomination for the position of Member of the Public Service Commission,” read part of the notice.
According to the notice, applicants must be Kenyan citizens and hold a degree from a recognised university.
They must also have at least 10 years of experience in their respective profession and meet the leadership and integrity requirements outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
At the same time, the panel outlined strict eligibility rules, preventing individuals who have recently been involved in active politics. This includes anyone who has, within the last five years, served as a Member of Parliament or County Assembly, or held a position in a political party.
Persons currently holding state office, those who have previously been candidates in elections, undischarged bankrupts, or individuals removed from office for violating the law are also ineligible.

Remuneration and benefits for the position will be determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
Applicants are required to submit a detailed curriculum vitae, certified copies of academic and professional certificates, a national ID, and other relevant testimonials.
Applications should be clearly marked “Application for the Position of Member, Public Service Commission” and addressed to the Chairperson of the Selection Panel.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to present original documents during interviews and provide clearance certificates from key agencies, including the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, a Credit Reference Bureau, and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
The panel warned that canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification and stressed that submitting fake documents or impersonation is a criminal offence.
Successful nominees will also undergo vetting and approval by the National Assembly in line with the law.
All applications must be submitted by Friday, May 15, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. East African Time.
The names of applicants and shortlisted candidates will be published in the Kenya Gazette, the PSC website, and in national newspapers after the application period closes.
