The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Executive Committee has suspended President Hussein Mohamed over allegations of misappropriation of Ksh 42 million allocated for CHAN preparations.
The NEC announced that investigations are underway and emphasized its commitment to transparency and accountability within the federation.
In the interim, McDonald Mariga will assume leadership duties to ensure continuity of FKF operations.
FKF NEC resolved as follows:
1. With immediate effect, Mr Hussein Rashid Mohammed do step aside from his role and position as President of Football Kenya Federation, Mr Abdullahi Yussuf Ibrahim do step aside from his role as nominated member of Football Kenya Federation National Executive Member and Mr Dennis Gicheru to step aside from his position and role as the Acting General Secretary of FKF to allow for investigations by relevant FKF, national and international bodies into alleged financial impropriety of public funds and resources and other statutory breaches.
2. The Deputy President of Football Kenya Federation, Mr Macdonald Mariga Wanyama do take over the roles and responsibilities of President of the Football Kenya Federation in an acting capacity with immediate effect pending completion of investigation and forensic audit into the affairs of Football Kenya Federation.

3. The acting President do constitute an urgent NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMIITEE meeting.
4. Pending any other directive and or resolution from Football Kenya Federation National Executive Committee all bank accounts belonging to FKF whether in the name of FKF or otherwise or where Mr. Hussein Rashid Mohammed is a signatory in his fiduciary capacity as an agent and delegate of Football Kenya Federation be frozen with immediate effect.

5. The following bodies and institution are hereby requested to appoint a reputable independent forensic auditor to audit all the affairs of Football Kenya Federation, it’s officials and all bodies of Football Kenya Federation, as pertains to all funds received from each respective institutions
a) CAF
b) FIFA
c) Ministry of Sports
6. All existing contracts entered into by Football Kenya Federation be reviewed by the National Executive Committee.
