Comedian and content creator Timothy Ndegwa, popularly known as Njugush, has broken his silence days after confirming breakup rumours with his wife, Celestine Wakavinye.
Speaking during a media interview on KTN on Tuesday night, April 29, 2026, Njugush avoided addressing the matter directly despite repeated questions from the presenter.
The interview, which focused on the state of Kenya’s creative economy, also featured fellow content creators Eunice Mammito and Philip Karanja.
When asked about his relationship with Wakavinye, Njugush did not give a direct answer. Instead, he shifted the conversation.
“Let’s work and make the creative economy work. We need to make money,” he said.

The presenter insisted, saying the issue was trending online and people wanted to hear his side of the story. But Njugush still refused to go into details.
“That’s why we are here. Let’s do things that will help the creative economy,” he added.
Rumours about their breakup started in February 2026. Njugush later confirmed the split in April. The news caused a lot of reactions online, especially because many people admired their relationship.
The presenter also asked how the online attention was affecting his work. But Njugush again avoided the personal question.
“Let’s work on the creative economy and build systems that will help it grow,” he said.
Even with pressure from the interviewer, Njugush chose not to talk about his personal life and instead focused on the need to grow Kenya’s creative industry.
Njugush’s breakup with Celestine Wakavinye has been widely discussed online for weeks.
