Content creator and boxer Ferdinand Omondi, popularly known as Mbavu Destroyer, is already getting big opportunities just weeks after losing his fight to Majembe in early April 2026.
Despite the defeat, Mbavu has remained popular and is now being invited to major events. His latest appearance was on Friday, April 30, 2026, at a boxing event called Fight Night held at a popular club in Kisumu called Canopy.
The event featured several boxing matches and was fully packed, with regular tickets selling at Ksh 1,000 and VIP tickets going for Ksh 3,000.
Mbavu attended the event as a special guest. After the matches ended, he addressed the crowd and even gave out cash to some of the boxers. He encouraged young people to support each other and stay united.
“And as for me, whatever little I have is for the youth, for my brothers… Let’s stand together as one,” he told the crowd.
Since his April 4, 2026, fight against Majembe at the Kasarani Indoor Arena during the Vurugu Fight Night organised by media personality Oga Obinna, Mbavu has continued to trend online.
He has appeared in several club events and viral videos, many of them linked to renowned comedian and content creator 2mbili.

One of the most talked-about appearances was at Club XO in Nakuru, where he entertained guests on stage by dancing alongside several women who were twerking for him.
He has also been seen in restaurants such as Hashgrill Ngara as part of post-fight content shared online.
Mbavu has also started acting, appearing in comedy skits by comedian and content creator Mjaka Mfine.
After the fight, Mbavu filed a case at the Sports Disputes Tribunal in Nairobi. He claimed the match was unfair, mentioning issues like a possible low blow and poor judging.
He wanted the result overturned or to be compensated, with reports saying he was seeking about Ksh 2.5 million.
However, he later withdrew the case around April 20–21, ending the legal battle.
On the other hand, Majembe won the match and walked away with the Vurugu Championship belt, a Toyota Noah, a sports bike, and cash prizes worth over Ksh 2.5 million.
Mbavu Destroyer became famous through viral street interviews and boxing content shared on social media, where his bold personality and confidence attracted a large following.
His rise in popularity later earned him a spot in the Vurugu boxing event, which further boosted his fame.
