Justice Mohamed Abdulahi Warsame is among the finest jurists in Kenya and has been part of a legal career that is distinguished by discipline, reforms, and impact on institutions.
Born in the year 1968 in Mandera, Justice Mohamed Abdulahi grew up in Bulla Mpya estate and has achieved a great deal since then to reach his current status in the country’s top judicial hierarchy.
Over a span of more than three decades in the legal profession, he has climbed the ladder of success and made a mark for himself.
His education credentials include a Bachelor of Laws degree earned from the University of Nairobi in the year 1992 and a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law in 1993.
He started off his career as a private advocate in 1994 with the firm named Anjarwalla Abdulhussein & Co. Advocates and founded his law firm named Warsame & Co. Advocates in the year 1996.
The period spanning from 1994 to 2003 marked a crucial phase in the development of his legal practice.
In 2003, Justice Warsame took up the mantle of transitioning into judicial office from his practice of law, thus initiating an era of development.
He first acted as a puisne judge and then eventually became a member of the High Court, where he sat in various divisions, namely the Commercial Division, Criminal Division, and Judicial Review Division.
At the High Court, his period in office saw a great focus on efficient case management and prompt pronouncements of decisions.

Justice Warsame was appointed to the Court of Appeal of Kenya in 2012, where he sat for more than ten years.
It is during this time that he cemented his reputation as a reformist judge who was able to clear an impressive number of cases from his docket.
He tended to make pragmatic judicial pronouncements by weighing legal doctrines against practical considerations.
Apart from his judicial functions, he held several crucial positions at the Judicial Service Commission following his appointment in 2013 under Article 171(2)(c) of the Constitution.
For almost eleven years, he served on the Finance and Administration Committee and the Human Resource Committee of the commission.

Justice Warsame attained the peak of his career on May 6, 2026, after his nomination and appointment to the Supreme Court of Kenya.
The nomination process and appointment were conducted after the death of Mohammed Ibrahim, who had served on the bench.
