Pastor Victor Kanyari has sparked public debate after revealing that his 13-year-old daughter, Sky Victor, earns Ksh500,000 monthly from a maize flour company.
Speaking during a church service, Kanyari stated that the payments are made directly into Sky’s accounts, noting that she insists on managing her own money despite her age.
“Imagine getting paid KSh500,000 in a month… and then hearing Sky tell me, ‘No, Dad, it has to go to my account.’ I try to convince her that it should go into my account, but she tells me, ‘No, that’s my money, “ he said.
Kanyari further described his daughter as a “sharp girl,” praising her confidence and independence in handling her earnings.

He argued that Sky earns the income through promotional content with a maize flour company, where she features in adverts aimed at encouraging consumers to relate with the brand.
According to Pastor Kanyari, the video shows Sky cooking ugali, a presentation he said is meant to promote the product in a relatable and family-friendly way.

Kanyari claimed that in some cases, he is the one who actually cooks meals such as ugali before Sky later appears in the videos posing with the finished food, creating the impression that she prepared it herself.
He further noted that Sky has become street-smart and strategic in the same way he considers himself, saying children often mirror the environment and upbringing they receive from their parents.
“That means she is a sharp Nairobi girl. She has become streetwise just like me, her father. The way you raise a child is the way they will grow up. If you raise a child badly, they will also become a copy of that behaviour,” he stated.
Kanyari also encouraged parents to expose their children to ways of making money, adding that such ways prepare them for their future.
Vows to Give His Kids Whatever They Ask For
Elsewhere, Kanyari vowed to give his children, Sky Victor and Danny, whatever they ask from him.
In a video shared on his social media platforms in February, the preacher gave his approach to parenting and providing for his children during a shopping trip with the duo, where Sky made a request for Ksh300,000.

Shortly after, Kanyari was seen holding a lengthy receipt with a trolley carrying their shopping as he engaged Sky in a conversation about the shopping.
“That is nothing, and I have not shopped for our room. I need 300k to shop for my room,” Sky said.
She further explained that the money in question was to furnish her room to her taste, detailing what she wanted in the room.
