Andrew Kibe is a Kenyan media personality, former radio presenter, YouTuber and digital commentator known for his outspoken opinions, controversial takes on relationships and modern society, and his influence in Kenya’s online space.

Over the years, Kibe has built a large audience while also attracting criticism for his provocative style and remarks about women, relationships and masculinity.

Andrew Kibe was born on July 1, 1976, in Kenya, although he has largely kept details about his family background and childhood private.

According to various reports, he attended Nairobi Milimani School, but little public information exists about his higher education.

Andrew Kibe’s Rise To Fame

Before becoming a media personality, Kibe worked several odd jobs while trying to establish himself professionally.

In interviews and online discussions, he has said he once worked as a barber, hawker, mechanic, car salesman and even a sandwich vendor.

He also revealed that he once trained as a preacher and aspired to become a pastor.

Kibe later explained that his outspoken nature made it difficult for him to fit within church leadership structures.

Politics

A major turning point in his life reportedly came after a work trip to India, which he has said changed his perspective on religion, society and personal freedom.

After returning to Kenya around 2016, he began posting opinion videos online, discussing relationships, social issues and gender dynamics in a blunt and often confrontational style.

Kibe also attempted to venture into politics during the 2013 Kenyan General Election when he unsuccessfully contested for the Lang’ata parliamentary seat.

His breakthrough in mainstream media came in March 2018 when he joined NRG Radio as a radio presenter.

Media Industry

He co-hosted shows alongside Kamene Goro, and the duo quickly gained popularity because of their chemistry and unfiltered conversations.

Their success at NRG Radio led to a move to Kiss 100, owned by Radio Africa Group, in 2019.

At Kiss FM, Kibe became one of Kenya’s most talked-about radio presenters.

He developed a reputation for controversial commentary, relationship advice and direct criticism of celebrities and social trends.

Controversial Content

His style resonated particularly with young male audiences, while critics accused him of promoting misogynistic ideas and toxic masculinity.

Discussions around his content became widespread on Kenyan social media platforms and online forums.

In June 2020, Kibe left Kiss FM, saying he felt censored on traditional radio and wanted more freedom to express himself online.

After leaving radio, he launched Rogue Radio, an online platform intended to give him creative independence.

However, the transition proved difficult financially. Kibe later disclosed that he lost his house, car and income streams during this period and experienced homelessness for a time while trying to rebuild his career.

Personal Life

Following these struggles, Kibe relocated to the United States, where he reinvented himself as a full-time digital content creator.

Through YouTube livestreams, commentary videos and interviews, he rebuilt his audience and established himself as one of Kenya’s most recognizable online personalities.

His content mainly focuses on relationships, celebrity culture, social commentary and masculinity debates.

Kibe has repeatedly spoken about personal failures, including failed businesses and marriage. He has revealed that he is divorced and has a son, although he keeps much of his family life private.

Financially, Kibe has claimed that he earned up to Ksh500,000 monthly during his radio career and later used YouTube earnings to rebuild his life in the United States.

Currently, Andrew Kibe remains one of Kenya’s most controversial online personalities.
