The court has ruled on the case of a suspect who shot and killed a General Service Unit (GSU) officer using a bow and arrow at the State House gate in Nairobi.
Suspect Kithuka Kimunyi claimed that he was sent by the devil after completing the devastating incident.
He was arraigned at Kibera Law Court on October 14, 2025, just 24 hours after committing the crime on October 13, 2025, that led to the death of the GSU police officer.
The court directed that he be detained for 14 days, although the prosecution side requested detention of the suspect for 21 days to allow police officers to complete their investigations.
“Your honour, we request the suspect to be detained. so that we can complete investigations in an open manner and determine the full extent of his crimes,” the prosecution stated.
During the hearing of this case on October 14, the suspect confessed to being a resident of Makueni County and traveling all the way from Makueni on October 12, on his deadly mission.

The prosecutor said the suspect was dressed like a deranged individual when he approached the GSU officers at State House Gate D.
He tried to invade the State House premises, but the GSU officer denied him access and pretended to have gone.
He hid at the vehicle around the State House gate, took a bow and arrow, and struck it towards the GSU officer.
“When he approached the gate, he was asked to leave, and that is when he attacked the officers with arrows,” the Prosecution said.
Earlier, it was revealed that the suspect fired two arrows and only one of them hit Constable Ramadhan on the left side of his chest.
Ramadhan was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital, and upon arrival, he was pronounced dead.
Kimunyi arrived in court limping, drawing a clear indication that he also sustained injuries during the incident.
The court also directed that the suspect should receive medical treatment for his injuries at Mbagathi Hospital before his 14-day detention period.
However, the prosecutor wanted the suspect to be detained after they doubted his real place of residence, which the court supported, which could hinder efforts to trace him if released.
