EABL Appoints New Executive Director Following Risper Ohaga’s Resignation

East African Breweries PLC (EABL) has announced changes to its board and senior leadership following the resignation of Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Director Risper Ohaga.

In a notice dated June 30, the EABL Board of Directors confirmed the appointment of Justin Mollel as Executive Director with effect from July 1, 2026, replacing Ohaga, whose resignation took effect on June 30, 2026.

“The Board of Directors of East African Breweries PLC (EABL) hereby announces the appointment of Mr. Justin Mollel as an Executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 July 2026 in place of Ms. Risper Ohaga, who resigned with effect from 30 June 2026,” read part of the statement.

Justin Mollel Replaces Risper Ohaga as EABL Executive Director

According to EABL, Justin Mollel is a seasoned finance and business professional with more than 15 years of experience in finance, strategy, and leadership across listed and non-listed organisations.

Prior to his appointment, he served as Chief Financial Officer at EABL.

He previously held senior finance positions as Finance Director at Diageo Ireland, Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC, and Serengeti Breweries Limited in Tanzania.

In those positions, Justin Mollel was responsible for financial leadership, business planning and performance management, while contributing to financial strategy development, operational performance and business growth.

The company further said Mollel has played a key role in driving business transformation, delivering growth strategies, and supporting high-growth businesses operating in dynamic and competitive markets.

New Executive Director Brings Leadership Experience

EABL said Mollel has built a strong track record of driving business transformation and implementing growth strategies in dynamic, competitive markets.

In addition, the company noted that he brings extensive expertise in business performance management, financial and statutory reporting, auditing, risk management, change management, and regulatory compliance.

“He has extensive experience in business performance management, financial and statutory reporting, risk and change management, auditing, and regulatory compliance,” EABL stated.

Mollel holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Dar es Salaam.

He is also a Certified Public Accountant and a registered member of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors of Tanzania (NBAA).
