Millicent Wayua, widely known as Dem Wa Facebook, is a Kenyan content creator born in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.
She is the second-born child of Bishop Albert Obayi and Jackline Namae Obayi.
Additionally, she has 5 siblings.
As early as class 5, she started hustling with her family to make ends meet.
Growing up in a low-income family, her mother worked on farms and sold vegetables while her father made bricks for a living.
Likewise, Dem Wa Facebook has two children.
She welcomed twin daughters on May 20, 2026.

Her passion for football began at the age of nine in Kabuyefwe Primary School.
In an interview with Nation Africa, she shared that she first took up the sport in class six.
However, financial challenges made it difficult for her to progress in education despite performing well in her KCPE examinations.
Fortunately, her football talent secured her a scholarship at Brenda Girls High School in Bungoma County with the help of a certain teacher.
After completing high school at Nasokol Girls in West Pokot, she scored a C+ in her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.
Thereafter, she spent nearly five years playing for the Trans Nzoia Falcons as a defender in the Women’s Kenya Premier League.
Where she received a remuneration of Ksh 10,000 per year.

She later led the team to victory in the Chapa Dimba Safaricom tournament in 2018.
Where they received 35k each among 12 players despite being handed 1M.
She also played for Bungoma Queens but later shifted her focus.

Soon afterwards, Millicent went to college.
In her first year during fresher’s night, she worked as security gate personnel in order to pay her rent.
She studied civil engineering for two years at Sangalo College despite the struggle.
Her friends and family encouraged her to give comedy a try.
While she was still in college, she travelled to Nairobi to try her luck.
Her first public performance came when she appeared on the Churchill Show in Kakamega.
Her relatable humor and unique style earned her the nickname “Dem wa Facebook.”
Consequently, the show helped her gain a big fan base, from 400 followers to 20k followers.
She recounts pocketing more than Ksh 40,000 in a single Churchill Show appearance.
Moreover, her video went viral in which she addressed men who tell women to get pregnant as a precondition for marriage.
This sparked widespread conversation.
A few comedians were ready to hold her hand and mentor her in the industry.
Her popularity surged in 2024, attracting a large audience.
She secured significant partnerships with various corporate brands like Raha Premium and Ratino Dreadlocks on her social media platforms.

Following her financial breakthrough, she built a home for her parents, explaining that she was not proud of her background.

“As women, we will always go back to our parents. My home is not something I was proud of. I wanted to make sure my family had a home they could be proud of,” said at an interview.
Although she faced criticism online for being too skinny and for not living the flashy lifestyle many expected of a Kenyan celebrity, she remained focused on her goals.
Instead, she worked tirelessly to educate her siblings and finance and furnish her parents’ home.
She also gives back to the community by supporting them, knowing that they were once her closest people.
She captured attention by collaborating with Oga Obinna, a well-known Kenyan comedian with a larger fanbase.
Obinna and other renowned content creators have helped her grow by co-creating and sharing content with their followers.
Currently, she has 850k followers on Instagram, 2.9M followers on TikTok and still counting.
