Kenya Met Lists Five Regions Expected to Receive Rain Over the Next Five Days

The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has forecast generally dry weather in most parts of the country over the next five days.
However, some areas in the Rift Valley, Nyanza, Western, Central, and Coastal regions are expected to receive occasional rainfall during the period.
In its five-day forecast covering July 4 to July 8, 2026, Kenya Met also said parts of the Rift Valley, Central, Western, Southeastern, and Northeastern regions are likely to experience intermittent cool and cloudy conditions.
“Most parts of the country are likely to be generally dry,” the Kenya Meteorological Department said in its forecast issued on Friday, July 3. It added that “rainfall is mainly expected over the Rift Valley, Nyanza, Western, Central and Coast.”

Kenya Met Weather Forecast: Western, Central, and Coastal Regions
According to the department, people living in the Western part of the country- among them Bungoma, Kakamega, Busia, Vihiga, Kisumu, Siaya, and surrounding counties-should anticipate rains and thunderstorms in a few areas during Saturday to Monday evenings.
Isolated rains are anticipated to last until Tuesday or Wednesday.
In the said part of the country, the maximum on those days is expected to be 31 °C and the minimum on those days is 10 °C.
Central parts of Kenya, including Nairobi, Kiambu, Murang’a, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Embu, and Meru will have cloudy mornings turning into sunny periods before isolated showers set in from Tuesday.
Maximum temperatures will be in the range of 25 C to 28 C.
The Coast will be mostly dry and sunny through Monday, with showers becoming more widespread on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Hot temperatures are expected, with a high of 31C, and minimum temperatures between 20C and 23C.

Weather Forecast for Northern and North-eastern Kenya, with a Focus on Heat and Potential Rain
Counties in the northern and north-eastern parts, among them Turkana, Samburu, Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Marsabit, and Isiolo, will continue to be sunny and hot.
The maximum temperature will be 36 °C, though there will be light rain starting on Tuesday for some parts of the north-eastern region.
