Share
HELB announces its first-time application portal will open soon and urges students to prepare key documents early to avoid last-minute rush and delays.

The Higher Education Financing (HEF) Portal is now open, giving students from the 2025 KCSE cohort an opportunity to apply for scholarships and student funding after securing university and TVET placements.

The announcement was made by the Universities Fund through its official X account on Wednesday, July 8, encouraging students to complete the financing application process as they prepare to join institutions of higher learning.

In its message, the Universities Fund congratulated students who successfully secured placements and urged them to take the next important step by applying for financial support through the HEF Portal.

“Congratulations, 2025 KCSE Cohort on your placement! Your education journey continues.”

The agency reminded students that receiving a placement alone does not automatically qualify them for government financial support and encouraged them to submit their applications as soon as possible.

HEF Scholarships Can Unlock Students’ Potential

The Universities Fund emphasized the importance of government support in helping students pursue higher education.

“You have secured your placement; now take the next step by applying for a scholarship and student funding through the Higher Education Financing (HEF) Portal.”

It added,”A scholarship can unlock your potential and shape your future. Don’t miss this opportunity.”

The agency also urged parents, guardians, teachers, and the public to share the information widely to ensure every eligible student applies.

“Share this poster with students, parents, guardians, teachers and your community. Let’s ensure no eligible student is left behind.”

The board announced that applications will remain open until September 8, 2026, giving eligible students two months to submit their requests for financial support.

HELB encouraged students joining universities and TVET institutions to apply early through its online portal to avoid last-minute delays.
