Police Intensify Nairobi Crime Crackdown, Arrest Four Suspects and Recover 26 Stolen Phones

The National Police Service (NPS) has intensified operations across Nairobi to capture mobile phone thieves.

During two separate operations, officers arrested four suspects and recovered 26 mobile phones suspected to have been stolen from members of the public.

In a statement on Friday, July 24, NPS said investigators have placed all four suspects in custody awaiting arraignment.

Officers have also retained the recovered phones as exhibits.

Police Raid Recovers 26 Stolen Phones

The officers from Central Police Station acted on actionable intelligence and targeted two premises within Nairobi, where they raided both premises during a carefully planned operation.

They recovered 11 mobile phones suspected to have been stolen from members of the public.

The officers arrested two key suspects believed to have links to organized mobile phone theft rings.

The operation disrupted criminal activities and has immensely strengthened ongoing efforts against mobile phone theft.

Meanwhile, NPS continues investigating possible connections to other reported cases in Nairobi.

The Swift Patrol Response Success

Officers from Shauri Moyo Police Station made another significant breakthrough during routine patrols along Digo Road.

The officers responded swiftly after receiving distress calls from a woman robbed of her mobile phone.

NPS said the officers conducted a meticulous search that led them to Majengo slums, where they recovered the victim’s stolen mobile phone without delay.

The officers recovered 14 assorted mobile handsets suspected to have been stolen from other people.

Besides, detectives continue examining every recovered handset to identify the rightful owners. They also seek evidence linking the devices to other theft incidents.
