He added that organisations are increasingly looking beyond traditional rewards programmes, using artificial intelligence to personalise customer experiences and encourage the adoption of digital financial services.

He noted that mobile money, digital banking and fintech innovation have transformed customer expectations, making personalised engagement a competitive advantage for businesses.
“Kenya is one of Africa’s most innovative digital economies. Mobile money, digital banking, fintech innovation and rapid smartphone adoption have created an ecosystem where customer engagement has become a key competitive advantage,” he said.
Kulpoo added that Xoxoday plans to leverage both Kenyan and Indian talent to introduce reward and engagement solutions tailored to local market needs.
He also said meaningful rewards can encourage behaviours such as making digital payments instead of using cash, saving regularly, borrowing responsibly, purchasing insurance, accepting digital payments as merchants and maintaining active bank accounts.

Xoxoday Co-founder Sumit Khandelwal said Kenyan banks are increasingly competing on customer experience rather than financial products alone.
He said Xoxoday’s AI-powered platform can support debit and credit card loyalty programmes, digital onboarding campaigns, customer referral initiatives, merchant-funded offers, savings incentives and personalised promotions.
