Multi-Agency Team Responds to Mombasa Maize Millers Fire
Efforts to contain the fire at Mombasa Maize Millers in Majengo are ongoing.
The Kenya Red Cross said a multi-agency team is on the ground responding to the incident.
The team includes the Mombasa Fire Department, Kenya Red Cross, Kenya Ports Authority and County Government health ambulances.

Recent Fire Incidents in Nairobi
The Mombasa fire comes amid several fire emergencies reported in Nairobi in recent days.
On August 3, a fire broke out at Lotus House near Afya Centre in Nairobi’s Central Business District, causing panic as emergency teams rushed to the scene.
Preliminary reports indicated that several people were trapped inside the building as firefighters worked to contain the blaze. The fire reportedly started on the first floor before spreading quickly.
People at the scene initially used fire extinguishers to fight the flames, but the intensity of the fire overwhelmed their efforts.

Flames and thick smoke rose from a section of the property, while sparks were visible around the affected area. The scenes led to speculation that an electrical fault may have caused the fire, although this was not immediately confirmed.
