The Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met) has released a weather forecast indicating that rainfall will continue across several regions during the week of October 21 to 27, 2025.
The areas expected to receive rains include the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, South-eastern lowlands, the Rift Valley, and North-western Kenya.
According to the report, isolated heavy rainfall events may occur in parts of these regions, while areas in the Coast, North-eastern, and North-western Kenya are expected to experience daytime temperatures above 30°C.
Meanwhile, night-time temperatures below 10°C will be felt in some parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley, and around Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Counties including Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, West Pokot, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, and Narok are forecast to experience morning rains in a few places, with afternoon showers and thunderstorms expected over several areas.
Night showers may also occur occasionally, spreading to multiple places.
The department warns of isolated heavy rainfall events in parts of this region.

Counties such as Turkana and Samburu are likely to experience morning rains, with afternoon and night thunderstorms predicted in a few areas throughout the week.
In Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi, and Nairobi, the mornings will remain cloudy with occasional rainfall, followed by sunny intervals.
Afternoon and night showers are expected in a few to several places, with chances of isolated heavy rainfall events in some counties.
Counties including Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo will generally experience sunny intervals during the day and partly cloudy nights.
However, Marsabit County may receive morning rains and scattered afternoon and night showers.
In Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, Taita-Taveta, and the inland parts of Tana River County, sunny days and partly cloudy nights will dominate most of the week.
The Met Department projects morning, afternoon, and night showers over a few to several areas during the second half of the week.

Counties along the coast, including Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale, as well as the coastal areas of Tana River, will experience sunny intervals during the day and partly cloudy nights.
Nonetheless, morning and afternoon showers may occur in a few places.
The department reported that rainfall was recorded across the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley.
Compared to the previous week, there was a decrease in rainfall over the Highlands, Coast, and South-eastern lowlands, but an increase in parts of the Rift Valley.
The highest seven-day rainfall total of 55.9mm was recorded at the Kisii Meteorological Station, while Eldoret recorded 40.0mm within 24 hours on October 19, 2025.
Daytime temperatures increased across much of the country, with Mandera recording the highest daily maximum at 38.0°C, while Nyahururu registered the lowest minimum at 4.6°C.
The report highlights the varying climatic conditions as Kenya transitions through the short rain season, advising residents in rainfall-prone areas to remain vigilant against potential flooding and related hazards.
