Russia Announces Scholarships for Kenyans and International Students with Stipends

The Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project is offering international students an opportunity to pursue tuition-free education at some of Russia’s leading universities.
The online competition is open to participants from around the world and allows successful applicants to study in English or Russian.
Winners can secure scholarships for bachelor’s, master’s or PhD programmes in their chosen fields. Young researchers can also compete for their first postdoctoral research position at a Russian university.
24 Russian Universities Taking Part in Offering a Scholarship
The scholarship provides admission to a tuition-free programme at one of 24 participating Russian universities.
The entire competition takes place online, allowing applicants to participate without travelling to Russia during the selection process.
The organisers say the project offers students access to a wide range of academic and research fields.
Russia currently ranks sixth worldwide in the number of international students, while Russian degrees are recognised in many countries, particularly in Asia, Africa and BRICS countries.

How to Apply
The first stage of the competition requires participants to register on the Open Doors website and select their preferred track and subject area.
Applicants must then prepare a portfolio containing individual achievements relevant to their selected field.
The application runs from August 20 to November 13 and also includes an entry test and a motivation letter.
The organisers encourage international students and young researchers interested in studying or pursuing research in Russia to take advantage of the opportunity.

Additional Benefits for Students
Students who choose to study in Russian may receive a grant from the Russian government.
