St Bakhita School Gives Learners Alternative Drink as Milk Shortage Bites Kenya

St Bakhita School has warned parents that learners could temporarily miss their usual milk supply amid what the institution describes as a shortage in the country.
In a notice to parents and guardians, the school said the disruption could affect its ability to provide milk to learners every day.
It attributed the challenge to the large quantities consumed across its schools, warning that there may be instances when we cannot meet our full daily requirements.
Management said it was making efforts to maintain the usual supply despite the shortage. However, on days when milk is unavailable, learners will be given an alternative beverage, with the school identifying drinking chocolate as one of the options.
“This will be a temporary measure until the milk supply in the country stabilizes,” the school said.
Reassuring parents that it was working to ensure learners continue receiving their usual milk whenever supplies are available.
The notice was signed by Mr James Ogweno, Chief Principal Primary & JS, on behalf of St Bakhita School Ltd. The institution also appealed to parents and guardians for their understanding and continued support as it manages the temporary disruption.
