MUWASCO Boss’ Son in ICU as Kenyans Raise Over Ksh1M After Emotional Appeal

Trevor, the son of Murang’a Water and Sanitation Company (MUWASCO) Managing Director Eng. Daniel Ng’ang’a has reportedly been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as Kenyans rally to help settle his hospital bill.

The young boy who is receiving treatment at Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital, moved Kenyans after a video of him making an emotional appeal to his father for help with his medical expenses circulated widely on social media.

Trevor’s plea has since prompted a fundraising drive, with well-wishers reportedly raising more than Ksh1 million within about one and a half hours to support his treatment and medical expenses.

Trevor Pleads With Father for Help From Hospital Bed

In the video, Trevor is seen distressed and in tears as he appeals directly to his father for assistance with his hospital bill.

“Mum’s job has not been stable, I do not want to die, please let me live, help me with the hospital bill, I beg you, you are my only hope,” Trevor said.

The video quickly spread across social media, prompting thousands of Kenyans to express concern over the boy’s condition and call for help.

His mother, Mary Wairimu, also spoke about the family’s situation, saying she had exhausted her financial resources while trying to keep her son in hospital.

According to Wairimu, Trevor requires surgery and the medical bills had continued to mount.

She further alleged that Trevor’s father had blocked her contacts and was not contributing towards the boy’s medical care.

Chris Kirubi Mobilises Kenyans to Help Trevor Clear Hospital Bills

Following Trevor’s emotional appeal, TikToker Chris Kirubi launched a fundraising drive to mobilise Kenyans to contribute towards the boy’s hospital bill and treatment.

Kirubi went live on TikTok and appealed to well-wishers to support Trevor’s family as he continued receiving medical care.

The response was swift, with contributions reportedly coming in within minutes.

Kirubi later announced that the fundraiser had collected Ksh1.187 million within one hour and 30 minutes.

“Within 1 hour 30 minutes Kenyans have already given us KSh 1.187 million. May baby Trevor get well soon,” Kirubi wrote in a Facebook post.
