Bandari Maritime Academy Announces Multiple Jobs Across Various Departments

Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) has opened applications for multiple positions across its management, maritime training, administration, technical, and support departments.
In a notice dated September 8, the academy invited applications from interested and qualified persons to fill various positions, including senior management, training, legal, human resources, finance, ICT, security, and administrative roles.
Bandari Maritime Academy was established through Legal Notice No. 233 of November 28, 2018, with the mandate to develop academic and vocational skills and provide competent maritime human resources for a sustainable Blue Economy.
Bandari Maritime Academy Hiring 2026: Available Positions and Requirements
Among the senior positions advertised are Senior Deputy Director, Maritime Education & Training and Senior Deputy Director, Maritime Transport Training, both under BMA Grade 2.
The academy is also seeking to recruit a Corporate Secretary and Head of Legal Service, Senior Principal Trainer I (Marine Engineering), Deputy Director, Placement and Industry Linkages, and Senior Principal Trainer I (STCW), among other positions.

Bandari Academy has also advertised positions including Works Officer I, ICT Officer I, Student Career and Welfare Officer, Business Development & Marketing Officer I, Trainer I in Marine Engineering, Trainer I in Nautical Science, Trainer I in MTOT, Simulator Instructor, Senior Coxswain, Swimming Instructor and Office Assistant.
Some of the positions have specified openings, including three positions for Senior Office Administrator and two positions for Office Assistant.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Interested applicants are required to visit the academy’s official website for complete details on the qualifications, job requirements, and mode of application for each position.

Applicants are encouraged to carefully review the specific requirements of their preferred positions before submitting their applications.
In addition, Bandari Maritime Academy stated that successful candidates will be required to submit valid compliance certificates before commencement of their employment contracts.
The required clearances include those from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), a registered Credit Reference Bureau (CRB), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), including a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.

The application should be filled and sent no later than 5.00 P.M. on Tuesday, 29 September, 2026.

The academy stated that applications received after the specified deadline will not be considered and added that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
