Prophet Owuor’s Church Breaks Silence on Alleged Ruto State House Meeting

The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness has distanced itself from politics, saying its leadership and the Prophet of the Lord are not involved in political activities.

In an official statement dated September 10, 2026, the ministry said it was responding to a social media post by Nyandarua Senator John Methu concerning the church.

The ministry made it clear that it remains neutral and does not support any political side.

“The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness and THE PROPHET of THE LORD are NEUTRAL and NOT INVOLVED in politics,” the statement said.

The ministry also said its focus remains on its religious mission and preparing the church for the coming of the Messiah.

“Our vision is that THE MESSIAH is coming and our mission is to prepare a holy church for the glorious coming of THE MESSIAH,” the statement added.

What Senator Methu Claimed on Repentance Church 

The ministry’s statement came after Senator Methu claimed that some church leaders were being pressured to attend a meeting at State House with the Mightiest Prophet of the Lord, Dr Edward Owuor.

In a post on social media on September 10, Methu said a senior Archbishop from the church had contacted him and claimed that the church leadership was being pushed to attend the meeting.

“This morning, a senior Archbishop of the Repentance and Holliness church has called me and openly told me that the church through it’s leadership is being forced to go with the Mightiest Prophet of the Lord Dr. Edward Owour to statehouse,” Methu said.

The senator further alleged that the pressure was being driven by Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi, who he claimed had linked the matter to his mother worshipping in the church.

According to Methu, Sudi was allegedly pushing the church to commit its support to President William Ruto.

Methu Claims Majority of Leaders Opposed the Move

Methu also claimed that about 80% of the church’s leadership had rejected the alleged move.

“About 80% of the leadership of the church has said no,” he claimed.

The senator further alleged that the proposed visit was being pushed despite opposition from bishops, senior bishops, archbishops and senior archbishops.

Methu compared the situation to what he described as the forcing of a similar visit involving the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA).

Senator Raises Concern Over Church’s Political Neutrality

Methu argued that the alleged move could affect the image of the Repentance and Holiness Church, which he said had previously stayed away from what he described as President Ruto’s political influence.

“The church, especially the Repentance and Holiness church, has so far steered away from the oppression of Mr. Ruto and therefore forcing them to taint their image is extremely unfortunate,” he said.
