Ruto Makes Key Appointments to 3 Government Boards

President William Ruto has reappointed officials to three government boards, including the NEPAD/APRM Kenya Governing Council, the Kenya Forest Service and the Water Services Regulatory Board.

In Gazette notice dated October 9, reappointed Francis Habara Moroto, Habon Billow Farah, Joseph Kimutai Boit and Rusiana Makasi Mitau as members of the NEPAD/APRM Kenya Governing Council.

The four officials will serve for another three years, effective October 9, 2026.

“IT IS notified for general information of the public that pursuant to Gazette Notice No. 4651 of 2016, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint—Francis Habara Moroto, Habon Billow Farah, Joseph Kimutai Boit, Rusiana Makasi Mitau, as Members of the NEPAD/APRM Kenya Governing Council, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 9th October, 2026,” read part of the notice.

Ruto Reappoints Titus Korir as Kenya Forest Service Chair

In a separate notice, Ruto reappointed Titus Kipkoech Korir as the non-executive chairperson of the Kenya Forest Service (KFS).

Korir will serve a further three-year term effective October 14, 2026.

The reappointment was made under Section 9(1)(a) of the Forest Conservation and Management Act, which provides for the appointment of the chairperson of the Kenya Forest Service.

“IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 9 (1) (a) of the Forest Conservation and Management Act, I, William Samoei Ruto,President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint– TITUS KIPKOECH KORIR to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Forest Service, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 14th October, 2026,” 

Additionally, the President reappointed Job Chirchir as the non-executive chairperson of the Water Services Regulatory Board.

He will serve for a three-year term effective October 14.

“IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 71 (1) (a) of the Water Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint— JOB CHIRCHIR as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Water Services Regulatory Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 14th October, 2026,”read part of the gazette notice.

Kabogo Reappoints John Wambui to Kenya Institute of Mass Communication Council

On the other hand,Cabinet Secretary  for health Aden Duale appointed Luka Chemwolo to serve on the Kenya Medical Research Institute Council for three years.

At the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo Gitau reappointed John Kieru Wambui to the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication Council for a further three years.

Cabinet Secretary for Treasury John Mbadi also appointed Kevin Owango Onyango and Dennis Miskellah as members of the Local Authorities Provident Fund Board of Trustees for three years effective October 9.

Mbadi also renewed Olago Aluoch’s tenure as non-executive chairperson of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund Board for three years, alongside Masitsa Naomi Shiyonga as a member of the board of directors, while Gerald Okoko received a fresh three-year term on the board of the Kenya Trade Network Agency.

Meanwhile, Agriculture and Livestock Development CS Mutahi Kagwe renewed John Karuru Mwangi’s tenure as a member of the board of directors of the Kenya Animal Genetics Resource Centre for three years.
