The Public Service Commission (PSC) has issued a notice on administration of a service -wide employee satisfaction and workplace environment survey.
This initiative is based on the Commission’s constitutional mandate, which is to ensure an effective and efficient public service, as stated in Article 234(2)e of the Constitution, Section 62 of the Public Service Commission Act of 2017, and Part VI of the PSC Regulations of 2020.
The survey’s main goals are to determine the present state of employee satisfaction and the appropriateness of the working conditions throughout the public sector.
An overall baseline employee satisfaction index will be established with the help of the data gathered.
“The survey targets public officers in all the six service sectors under the jurisdiction of the Commission which are: Constitutional Commissions& Independent Offices; Ministries and State Departments; Statutory Commissions and Authorities; State Corporations & Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies (SAGAs); Public Universities; and Technical, Vocational and Education Training Institutions (TVETs).”
This survey is highly championed for in a way that the results will help to guide future policy reviews, directly reliable initiatives that will enhance the improvement of service delivery.
The government has stipulated this move to make sure even workers enjoy good working environment that will enable them perform to their best.
All the CEO’s and Head of Human Resource under the umbrella of Public Service Commission has been told to share widely this notification so as every stakeholder feel involved.
