Eric Ng’eno is the eloquent man behind crafting and compelling many of President William Ruto’s powerful speeches.
Eric has worked with Ruto for over 15 years now. His relationship with the President started after the 2007/08 post-election violence, when Ng’eno did deeper research and provided secretarial support during the Serena talks.
He is a lethal and communication expert who plays an official role in President Ruto’s communication office.
Professional Qualifications
He is an alumnus of Alliance High School.
Ng’eno is a lawyer by training from Moi University.
He acquired professional training in the Kenya School of Law, where he was granted the Post-Graduate Diploma.
He joined Strathmore Business School in 2015 and enrolled for a Masters in Public Policy and Management

Before fame, Ng’eno worked in commercial, regulatory, legislative, and public policy matters.
He is a partner at Kipsang and Mutai Advocates in charge of litigation, research and legal advisory.
His Journey to the Govt Communication Role
In 2007/08, after the post-election violence period, Ng’eno supported Ruto during the national negotiations.
In 2023, when the Jubilee coalition took over the government, he joined them as the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU) as Senior Director in charge of Messaging.
He worked with Former President Uhuru Kenyatta from 2013 to 2020.
He made a major comeback to the State House as Messaging Secretary and Ruto’s chief speechwriter after the 2022 general elections.

Ng’eno can use poetic rhetorical style, depth of policy understanding, and ability to translate complex technical information into accessible public messaging that reflects the president’s voice and cadence.
Eric’s work is credited with bringing the shape of major national and international addresses, which includes Ruto’s United Nations General Assembly speech.
